Diversity at MTU

The working world is becoming more colorful. It’s the result of changes in our society, the demographic change, and the growing percentage of workers with immigrant backgrounds. Staff diversity represents a decisive competitive advantage for companies because in mingled teams individuals’ strengths complement each other while their weaknesses balance each other out.

MTU takes measures to ensure a tolerant work environment that hires and promotes on an equal-opportunity basis while offering flexible work schedules and diverse jobs for a diverse staff. Giving fair chances to people of different cultures, sexes, bodily capabilities and ages, letting them all take part in work life and corporate life – that is a central aspect of MTU’s corporate culture.

In 2010, MTU signed the “Charter of Diversity,” a joint initiative of the German Federal Government and private industry. Through the charter, German companies have made a voluntary commitment to creating work environments free from prejudice where employees’ diverse aptitudes can be acknowledged and encouraged. All participating companies publish a report each year on the special activities they have organized and the progress they have made in promoting diversity and appreciation.
