Finance and Controlling

MTU is a publicly traded company. It employs a workforce of more than 7,500 employees worldwide and in 2008 posted sales in the amount of around 2.72 billion euros. The finance and controlling center is responsible for financing and accounting as well as for all insurance and tax matters. It provides management, workforce, shareholders and government authorities with all information needed to assess the net assets, financial standing and results of opera-tions and control the economic development.

The staff in the finance area is thoroughly familiar with the generally accepted accounting and valuation principles as per IFRS, German GAAP (German commercial code). It also implements projects in cooperation with all involved and drives innovation based on its profound knowledge of process chains and their representation in SAP.

Employees in controlling provide commercial support for contract negotiations with partners and customers, assist in the coordination of corporate planning processes and tap new potentials to increase the company value. By providing tools and methods and defining standards controlling ensures continuous optimization of all business processes.
