Finding your way to Zhuhai

After the baggage claim area in Hong Kong follow the signs "Airport Express". Buy a ticket at the machine or desk. Therefore you need your boardingpass. The ticket will cost 90/160 HKD (Kowloon – China Ferry Terminal) or 100/180 HKD (Central – Macau Ferry Terminal) for a one way ticket or for a round trip ticket.

It takes 20 minutes to Kowloon with the Airport Express and 25 minutes to Hong Kong Central (Island). It`s advisable taking the Airport Express. It’s a nice new train and stops only 3 times to HK Central. The train is equipped with a system which shows you all the time were you are.

It is a shorter way to get off at Kowloon. However if you arrive in Hong Kong after 3 pm it is preferable to get off at the terminal stop Hong Kong Central because the last ferry from Kowloon leaves at 5:30 pm already.

1.         Exit the Airport Express in Kowloon:
Take a taxi to the China Ferry Terminal. This costs about 20 HKD and takes 5 minutes. In the China Ferry Terminal ask for the Ferry ticket Offices and then buy a ticket to Zhuhai at the CKS Counter. The ticket costs 178 HKD for the 2nd class and 208 HKD for the 1st class.

Ferry Schedule: 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 11:30, 13:30, 15:30, 17:30
Departure is usually from berth 4.

2.         Exit at terminal station Hong Kong Central:
Take a taxi to the Macao Ferry Terminal. This costs about 20 HKD and takes 5 minutes.

Use the escalator to get to the second floor and buy a ticket to Zhuhai at the CKS Counter. If you get off the escalator you only see the Turbo Jet Counter at first. The CKS counter is opposite of the Turbo Jet Counter. The ticket costs 178 HKD for the 2nd class and 208 HKD for the 1st class. It`s advisable to buy the first class ticket when the weather conditions are not so good.
To get to the ferries use exit East.

Ferry Schedule: 8:40, 10:30, 12:30, 14:30, 16:30, 19:30, 21:30
Departure is usually from berth 9.

3.         Arrival in Zhuhai:
There are buses to the hotels at the exit of the ferry terminal. The employees of the hotels hold up signs with the name of the hotel.

4.         With the taxi from HK Airport to the ferry terminal
A taxi from the airport to the ferry terminal costs about 500 HKD. To find a taxi just go to the exit and follow the signs ‘Taxi’. At the airport and the train stations you’ll always find a taxi. The drivers speak English and know the ferry terminals well.

In Zhuhai:
You will be offered a taxi already in the Ferry terminal or at the exit. These are no taxis but private cars. Don’t take one of those in any case!
Go out of the building onto the street. There you will find the real taxis (with a sign on the roof). The color of the car is mostly green/yellow, blue/white or deep red. If there is no taxi, turn left to the entrance. The trip to the hotel costs about 20 RMB.

5.         Entry- and Exit-formalities:
Have all the time a pen during your trip available!

At the Hong KongAirport(Entry):
Fill in the Entry Form (You’ll eventually get them on the airplane already; otherwise you’ll find them before the pass control. Keep the copy!)

At the Hong Kong Ferry Terminal (Exit): Hand in the copy from the entry at the Pass Control.

At the Zhuhai Ferry Terminal (Entry):
Fill in the entry from.
Fill in the "SARS" Paper (always tick ‘NO’)
Fill in the custom declaration. (But please read the paper anyway because it is changing constantly.)
You will eventually find the papers in the ferry already; otherwise there are always some before the corresponding controls.

Order:
First SARS Paper, then Entry and last is the custom declaration.
Have a good trip!
