Aluminizing and chromizing

(at 700 - 1200 °C)
Turbine blades and vanes exposed to operating temperatures up to 1100 °C are aluminized to protect them from hot-gas corrosion and high-temperature oxidation. Chromizing serves the same purpose; however, chromized components can be exposed to temperatures between 700 and 900°C only.
