Anodizing

On exposure of aluminum to air a thin protective oxide film will form which makes the material resistant to ordinary corrosion. This protective oxide film can be artificially strengthened by the anodizing process where the component acts as the anode. This results in a considerably improved resistance to corrosion. The ability of coating produced by anodic oxidation (ELOXAL) to absorb dyes and pigments makes it possible to obtain finishes in a complete range of colors.
