Intermetallic materials

These include materials such as titanium aluminide and nickel aluminide and combine the beneficial properties of metals with those of ceramics. Intermetallic materials can be exposed to higher temperatures than most metals and they are less ductile, but their brittleness is lower than that of ceramics.
