Jet pipe nozzle

The thrust delivered by an engine increased by acceleration of the exhaust gas jet in a slightly tapered jet pipe nozzle. Engines without afterburner are fitted with a fixed cross-section jet pipe, engines with afterburner a variable jet pipe.
