Silencer
Silencer is a four-year European technology program (April 1, 2001 to March 31, 2005) aimed at markedly reducing the noise produced by aircraft and engines. The medium-term target is a reduction by 6 dB, and an overall reduction by up to 10 dB is aimed at over the next 15 years. This corresponds to a 50% reduction of the noise level perceived when an aircraft passes by. In total 51 partners from industry and research participate in this program.
