Steel shot peening
Steel shot peening serves to compact the component surface and is aimed at improving the component's stress-rupture and fatigue strength. The process eliminates residual tensile stresses in the surface and builds up residual compressive stresses. The steel shot is accelerated by means of compressed air and directed onto the component surfaces through nozzles.
