Stress-relieving

(at 450 - 900°C)
This heat treatment process serves to reduce internal stresses to prevent distortion and cracking. It used mainly after machining operations, such as milling, turning, grinding and drilling. The process causes plastic deformation in the micro range but does not change the material structure.
