PW6000
The PW6000 has been developed in cooperation with Pratt & Whitney since 1998. In a first for the company, MTU is manufacturing the entire low-pressure turbine and the high-pressure compressor for the PW6000. Final assembly is performed at MTU's Hannover facility.
The engine stands out by its high efficiency, simplistic design and comparatively low price. Designed for short-haul service, the PW6000 will power the Airbus A318. The PW6000 is manufactured using innovative techniques and materials and will appreciably reduce maintenance costs.
