JT8D (JT8D-200)
MTU has been a 12.5% risk-and-revenue-sharing partner in Pratt & Whitney’s JT8D engine program since 1984. The company manufactures low-pressure turbine blades and parts of various modules for the JT8D-200engine family.
The engine has a maximum take-off thrust of 96.5 kN and powers Boeing MD-80 family of aircraft. The large number of installed engines guarantees a consistently high level of demand for spare parts.
