In the field of engine part repairs MTU can draw on the support of a global network of repair shops, among them centers  of excellence. These stand out for their unique expertise in the fields of individual component and assembly repairs, their specialized high-tech repair processes and their advanced equipment. The combination of which allows them to provide exceptional, one-of-a-kind service offerings.

In keeping with MTU Maintenance’s “single face to the customer” approach, each customer has just one contact to take care of all of its repair needs – no matter where in the world the work is carried out. Streamlined operating structures ensure smooth and fast processing of repair orders, even when the work is shared by several locations.

Center of Excellence Parts

MTU Maintenance operates a network of repair shops located in Europe, North America and Asia. The individual facilities are Centers of Excellence for their respective range of services. To ensure maximum efficiency, MTU’s Repair Services contact handles all aspects of the repair, coordinating the work between company locations true to the principle of a “single face to the customer”. The experts on MTU’s Repair Services teams are responsible for different regions and markets and are thoroughly familiar with the specific needs and requirements of each customer.

MTU’s facility in Munich is the Center of Excellence for frames, cases and blisk repairs. The shop also performs repairs on components such as disks and seal rings.

MTU Aero Engines Polska, located in Rzeszów, was added to the MTU Group’s network of worldwide companies in 2009. The shop excels in the repair of tubes and honeycomb seals.

MTU Maintenance Hannover specializes in the repair and overhaul of medium-sized and large commercial engines. The facility is the largest shop for parts repair and the Center of Excellence for turbine airfoils. Furthermore MTU Maintenance is one of only a few MRO service providers worldwide licensed to maintain, repair, overhaul, test and release the GE90, the world’s most powerful engine.

MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg, located in Ludwigsfelde, specializes in aircraft engines in the low to medium thrust and power ranges, plus GE aeroderivative industrial gas turbines (IGTs). For the products in its engine portfolio, it provides on-wing and on-site services and coordinates the global network of IGT service centers.

The facility in the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone is a 50/50 joint venture of MTU Aero Engines and China Southern Airlines. The shop is the market leader in China for engine MRO services and specializes in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of V2500 and CFM56 engines.

MTU Maintenance Canada is MTU’s Center of Excellence for the repair of accessories and LRU management. In 2012, the company opened its new Accessory Repair Centre (A.R.C.). The facility specializes in fuel system components, such as nozzles, pumps and actuators, pneumatic system components such as valves, starters and pressure switches, as well as components for hydraulic and oil systems, such as actuators, pumps, coolers, valves, filters and control assys. The Accessory Repair Centre additionally has highly advanced rigs for testing all of these engine components.

MTU Maintenance Dallas is MTU’s Center of Excellence for on-wing and on-site services. The company is renowned for providing highly flexible, rapid response to its customers’ maintenance needs, whether scheduled or unscheduled. Its portfolio is rounded off by numerous other services, such as AOG support, end-of-lease inspections or borescope inspections.

Ceramic Coating Center (CCC) is a joint venture for high-tech coatings. It was set up in 1999 by MTU Aero Engines and French engine maker Safran Aircraft Engines. Both companies hold a 50-percent stake in the joint venture that specializes in the deposition of highly advanced and innovative coatings. As a supplier to MTU’s various locations, Ceramic Coating Center provides turbine parts with high-performance ceramic thermal barrier coatings. These are applied using the highly sophisticated electron-beam physical vapor deposition (EB-PVD) technique.

Airfoil Services Sdn. Bhd. (ASSB) in Malaysia is a 50/50 joint venture company of MTU Aero Engines and Lufthansa Technik AG. The shop is the Center of Excellence for the repair of compressor and low-pressure turbine airfoils.

MTU Maintenance Lease Services B.V. is an 80/20 joint venture company of MTU Maintenance and Sumitomo Corporation based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It offers airlines, MRO providers and lessors short- and medium-term engine lease options. It further takes care of engine asset management and provides comprehensive material management solutions.
