• USD 3.7 billion in contract wins

Langenhagen, 15th March, 2018 – The year 2017 was one of the most successful yet in the over 36-year MTU Maintenance history. The MRO division of MTU Aero Engines AG secured over 3.7 billion US dollars in contract wins, an impressive 1,5 billion more than in 2016. “There were about 270 contracts signed last year. Of those, 47 were with new customers or existing customers sending new engine types to our MRO facilities,” reports Michael Schreyögg, Chief Program Officer, MTU Aero Engines. “We are delighted by the new and continued trust customers place in us, as engine experts. It is a clear signal from the market that our portfolio of creative and  flexible solutions is exactly what is needed. We are also very proud of the achievements of our international sales team, led by Leo Koppers, Senior Vice President MRO Programs.”

• MTU has a work share of 18 percent in the CH-53K engine program

Munich, March 1, 2018 – Germany’s leading engine manufacturer and U.S.-based helicop-ter manufacturer Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company have jointly entered into an agree-ment for MTU to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul of the engines for the German Air Force with new heavy lift helicopters to replace its aging CH-53G fleet of aircraft.

Munich, February 27, 2018 – The Supervisory Board of MTU Aero Engines AG today accepted the Executive Board’s proposal to raise the company’s dividend to €2.30 per share. This proposal, which represents an increase of 40 euro cents, or 21%, compared with the previous year’s dividend, will be presented to the voting members of the Annual General Meeting on April 11, 2018.

Munich, February 21, 2018 – MTU Aero Engines AG once again set new records in the financial year 2017. Revenues increased by 6 % from € 4,732.7 million in 2016 to a new high of € 5,036.3 million. Operating profit reached a new record level of € 606.6 million, beating the previous year’s result by 21 % (2016: € 503.0 million). Earnings after tax surpassed the previous record of € 345.4 million, set in 2016, growing by 24 % to € 429.1 million.

• Contract volume: 22 T408 engines built by GE and valued at 140 million U.S. dollars
• MTU has a program share of 18 percent

Munich, February 12, 2018 – The T408 engine that will power the U.S. Marine Corps’ CH-53K heavy-lift helicopter is now going into production. The contract to build 22 T408-GE-400s and provide logistics and engineering support for the engine, valued at 143,481,258 million U.S. dollars, has been awarded to GE Aviation by the U.S. military, marking a major milestone. MTU Aero Engines, Germany’s leading engine manufacturer, is responsible for the development and production of the power turbine for the T408 engine and has a work share of 18 percent in the engine program. The U.S. Marine Corps expects its first squadron of CH-53K helicopters to reach initial operational capability by 2019.
