MRO News: MTU Maintenance wins V2500 maintenance contract for Aruba Airlines

Hannover (Germany), 25 June 2015 – MTU Maintenance, one of the top five engine maintenance providers worldwide, has further extended its customer base which now also includes a new operator from the Caribbean. The company has signed an exclusive all-round Total Engine Care (TEC®) agreement on a fly-by-hour (FBH) basis with Aruba Airlines for the maintenance of the operator’s V2500 engines. The contract will run for 10 years and includes engine MRO, spare engine and on-site support, MTUPlus Engine Trend Monitoring, accessory and LRU management as well as consultancy services.

With more than 3,800 shop visits since the introduction of the V2500 to its portfolio and a market share of 37 percent, MTU Maintenance is the market leader on this engine type. MTU is also enjoying a world-class reputation for its MRO-related services, which help customers save costs while having their engine needs handled from a single source.

Aruba Airlines, headquartered in Oranjestad, Aruba is a privately-owned carrier operating scheduled passenger services from its Aruba base to Maracaibo and Valencia (both Venezuela) as well as Panama City (Panama). Charter flights are also offered to Cancun and Quito. From July, the airline will add regular flights between Miami (USA) and Aruba, and it has plans to expand its route network to further destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean by the end of the year.
