Privacy policy

Privacy Policy for the MTU Applicant Portal

With the following Privacy Policy, we, MTU Aero Engines AG, Dachauer St. 665, 80995 Munich, Germany and our worldwide affiliate company (“MTU Group” or “we”) in accordance with §15 et seqq. of the German Stock Corporation Act (AktG), provide information as to which personal data we collect, process and utilize when you use our Applicant Portal at “www.careers.mtu.de”.

“Personal data” includes all individual data items concerning the personal or factual circumstances of a specific or specifiable person. This includes, for example, the application data you enter (e.g., concerning your professional background), or other information relating to the use of our Applicant Portal.

The Applicant Portal is provided for the MTU Group and operated technically as an external IT service by means of a commissioned data processing arrangement with the company d.vinci HR-Systems GmbH, Nagelsweg 37-39, 20097 Hamburg.

Apply with or without Registration

You can inform yourself about current vacancies without entering any personal data. In order to submit an application, you may first register a user account, or you may choose to begin your application before registering. In the latter case, a user account will be generated for you automatically upon submission of your application, and you will receive your log-in information via email. Registering a user account allows you to follow the progress of you application(s), to upload the requested MTU application materials for your application in progress, to apply for positions, and to receive notifications via email as new positions become available.

The following information is required when creating a user account: Title, last name, first name, complete address, telephone number, email address, desired username, chosen password, and security question (aggregately, “registration data”).

Deleting Your User Account

If you fail to log in during a period of twelve months and all your applications are concluded, we delete your user account. You may delete your user account yourself at any time by clicking on “Remove user account,” provided that all your applications are concluded. Upon deletion of a user account, all personal registration data are deleted. Subsequently, it is no longer possible to log in to that account

Applications

The following information (marked with * ) is required for the submission of an application: Title, last name, first name, complete address, telephone number, email address, education, desired starting date, and how you became aware of us.

Additionally, you will be requested to upload materials. In a single document (max. 2 MB), we wish to see: your application package including cover letter, résumé, photograph, references, certificates and complete reference letters (aggregately, “application data”). Any further input in our Applicant Portal is voluntary. After you have finished entering your application data, this information is sent to the company within the MTU Group in charge of hiring for the relevant vacancy. Your profile and application data can be accessed only by the specific department where the vacancy is located and by the human resources department of that company.

You may additionally give consent for your profile and application data to be passed on to other companies in the MTU Group. This allows us to consider your application data with respect to appropriate vacancies at other companies in the MTU Group. Your consent is voluntary and may be revoked at any time through the contact person for your application. The text of the consent form can be viewed as an attachment to this Privacy Policy.

Your personal application data are collected, processed, and used solely for the purpose of establishing and evaluating your application status. If your application fails to culminate in a work contract, MTU will retain your personal application data for six months after issuing an application denial. Access to your data is blocked during this time. Upon completion of the six months, your data are deleted automatically.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that are temporarily loaded onto your hard drive. They enable a website to provide easy navigation and a high level of user-friendliness. Cookies can be used to determine whether some communication has already taken place between your computer and our webpages. These cookies allow for your computer to be identified without establishing any connection to your person.

Privacy Policy within MTU

We take the protection of your private data seriously, and we want you to feel secure when visiting our webpages. We are dedicated to protecting your privacy while processing your personal data, and our dedication is reflected in our business procedures. We process the personal data collected during your visit to our webpages according to the legal regulations on data protection valid in the country in which the entity responsible for processing your data is located. Moreover, our data protection policy conforms to the Codes of Conduct in effect at MTU Aero Engines.

You have the right to demand information from us regarding the personal data we have stored with regard to your person, to correct errors in your personal data, and to have data deleted once they are no longer required.
