Frauen-Karriere-Index (FKI) – Women’s Career Index

One of our primary corporate goals is to continually support and promote a diverse and international workforce. We attach particular importance to gender diversity in this regard, as it makes better use of all our potential and better future-proofs the company in the face of demographic change. We review our measures to support women’s careers in the context of dynamic change on a yearly basis, such as through the consulting organization “Frauen-Karriere-Index” (FKI).

The FKI is an independent measurement tool that can be used by companies and organizations of every size and from every industry. It investigates how women from different management levels develop in their careers. With support from the FKI, companies are be able to implement more efficient measures and thereby sustaina-bly improve women’s opportunities for advancement. Founded in 2012, the FKI is a Munich-based company and under the patronage of the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.

The assessment process

The analysis contains a 40-page data entry form with a total of 46 measures for important topics such as: commitment by senior management, working time models, development opportunities for women, transparent HR processes, effectiveness of established measures such as diversity councils, networks or mentoring programs for women. Companies in Germany with the highest index scores (between 1 and 10) are honored on International Women’s Day each year.
