Job and family
MTU would like to offer its employees the possibility to strike a healthy balance between job and family life. For its efforts in this field the company was awarded the "Career and Family" certificate back in 2005.
MTU’s more than 50 work-time models support this balance between professional and personal lives. Offers such as telecommuting jobs, part-time work or flextime allow employees to manage and optimally utilize their work time in line with their individual needs.
For every employee dreaming of a long-term travelling or just an intensive time to care for the family, MTU offers a Sabbatical which enables employees to drop out of their job for a longer period of time (2-6 months), and return to their post after that phase.
Reasons for a longer absence from the job might of course also be a long-term voluntary dedication in non-profit projects, Measures of further education, Studies or other apprenticeships as well as Personal projects as Construction of a home.
In times when daycare services for children are scarce, the daycare center of the TurBienchen e.V. parent initiative at MTU's Munich location has proved its worth over the years. Here, children between the ages of six months and six years can play and learn together in small groups, lovingly attended to by a multilingual nursery team.
In all questions regarding the issue of caring for children, sick family members or family members in need of nursing care MTU offers an independent advisory and placement service. The advice is based on the individual situation of the employee and regarding the financial framework as well as municipal and state financial assistance. In addition, child minders and Au Pairs or emergency care are procured. For insurance and financial issues the advisory and placement service also provides advice.
MTU's range of service offerings is complemented by famPlus familienservice, an independent company that provides consultancy and intermediary services. famPlus familienservice assists MTU employees in all matters relating to the care of children, sick family members or family members in need of nursing care.
