On-site and Near-wing Services
Service, quality, reliability and efficiency are the hallmark of MTU Maintenance – both in the maintenance shops and on-site missions around the globe, 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
With individual special missions and on-site services which are part of its all-round carefree Total Engine Care service package, MTU Maintenance provides the full range of repair and maintenance services for the most popular engine types in all thrust and power categories. A set of service offerings which continue to be expanded.
MTU Maintenance offers its customers 24/7 on-call service and operates a network of facilities around the globe. Even in AOG (aircraft on ground) situations, the company is a reliable partner that responds quickly to emergencies to keep downtimes as short as possible. Field service teams perform a wide range of tasks on site, such as borescope inspections and repairs, as well as coordinating the replacement of components and modules.
A dedicated after-sales support team is responsible for handling the field service assignments, from technical and logistical aspects through to customs clearance. The on-call service team coordinates the ordering of materials from MTU’s warehouses in the required quantity and quality. This way, MTU’s on-site maintenance experts can focus on their essential task: fast and efficiently restoring the engine to a serviceable condition in a professional manner.
In addition, the company performs scheduled on-site maintenance missions as part of tailor-made MRO strategies arranged with customers. Such missions obviate the need for time-consuming transportation and test cell runs, which save airlines a lot of money as compared to off-wing shop visits.
Engine maintenance companies that provide their customers with lease engines as replacement for engines undergoing overhaul face certain difficulties: the engines are located at different places around the world and customer requests normally come in at short notice. MTU Maintenance has developed solutions also to these specific problems, offering special services and individual support.
In the field of on-site services MTU Maintenance is currently focusing on further expanding its network of locations, mainly in Europe and Asia, to be able to offer full on-site services for all engine types in a global network. The company also aims to broaden the scope of on-site offerings for preventive maintenance in combination with its MTUPlus Engine Trend Monitoring system.
