MTU Aero Engines operation in the U.S. obtains FAA repair station certification
Munich / Appleton, U.S.A., September 17, 2010 – MTU Aero Engines continues to strengthen its repair activities: In early September, the company's U.S. operation in Appleton, Wisconsin received the FAA's approval as a certified repair station. "With the approval now obtained, we can offer on-wing services for CF34 engines also to customers in the U.S.," says Dr. Stefan Weingartner, President and CEO, Commercial Maintenance. Maintenance services for other engine types shall follow.
With its team of four employees based in Appleton, Germany's leading engine manufacturer is stepping up its maintenance services, by moving closer to its customers and speeding up response times. Previously, the engine mechanics, along with spares and equipment needed, had to be flown in from MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg in Ludwigsfelde, Germany.
