Official opening: MTU Aero Engines launches representation office in Atlanta

• Dr. Rainer Fink to head the company's new maintenance office in the U.S.

Atlanta, Georgia (U.S.), March 15, 2010 – In March, MTU Aero Engines officially opened its new sales office in Atlanta, Georgia. During the brief opening ceremony, Dr. Stefan Weingartner, MTU President and CEO, Commercial Maintenance, said there was good reason for establishing a local presence in the region: "We felt it was important to get closer to customers in this, our largest market to further improve on our already outstanding levels of service."

MTU's new branch is headed by Dr. Rainer Fink and forms part of the organization of its wholly-owned affiliate MTU Aero Engines North America (AENA). The office will market the full range of maintenance services offered by the German engine manufacturer under the roof of its MTU Maintenance brand. MTU Maintenance is the largest independent provider of commercial engine maintenance services worldwide. Atlanta was picked as the location for the new sales office due to its proximity to the home bases of all airlines, leasing companies and other major industry players in North and Central America. Commented Fink: "From here, we'll reach any of our U.S.-based customers within a matter of no more than four hours."
