MTU Maintenance Canada is the North American member of the MTU Maintenance network of companies, the largest independent provider of commercial engine maintenance services worldwide. The company operates a shop in the immediate vicinity of Vancouver's international airport where it repairs and overhauls engines and accessories and performs engine tests.
MTU Maintenance Canada affiliate holds all OEM licenses required for the repair and overhaul of GE CF6-50 and CFMI CFM56-3 engines. Apart from conventional accessory repairs in its own shop, the company also offers its customers so-called Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) management services which play an increasing role in MTU's service offerings.
MTU Maintenance Canada is a maintenance organization approved by the FAA, Transport Canada and other aviation authorities. It is authorized to inspect, repair, overhaul and test aircraft engines, modules and components. Repair processes include high-speed grinding, welding and non-destructive testing.
History of MTU Maintenance Canada
MTU Maintenance Canada, the first MTU affiliate outside Germany, was founded in November 1998. Since 2003, when Canadian Airlines (now Air Canada) sold its minority stake, MTU Maintenance Canada has been a wholly owned affiliate of MTU Aero Engines.
