F414

The F414 is an enhanced version of GE's F404. It combines advanced technology with the proven reliability, maintainability and operability of its successful predecessor, the F404, while delivering 35 percent more thrust. The F414 is used, among others, in Boeing's F/A-18 Super Hornet twin-jet fighter and its E/A-18G Growler electronic warfare version.

The F414 is the first time MTU has taken a risk and revenue share in a major U.S. military engine program. MTU produces various high-pressure and low-pressure turbine parts for the F414.
