The MTU Museum

MTU Aero Engines’ museum boasts one of the finest collections of aero engine exhibits worldwide: On almost 850 square meters, over 50 items are on display, giving an overview of the history of powered flight. Among the exhibits are aero engines from the early days of aviation, some of which are the last extant copies in the world, as well as complete state-of-the-art propulsion systems and propulsion system components from today’s aircraft. The museum also showcases innovative, cutting-edge propulsion technologies for tomorrow’s aviation. A star of the exhibition is on display in a highly visible location at the entrance to the museum: the huge GP7000, which powers the Airbus A380, the world’s largest passenger airliner.

In 2024, the museum will open to external visitors on three Sundays: March 17, June 23 and November 10. Aviation enthusiasts can then visit our unique collection of engines from 1 to 4 pm.

Virtual tour

With our virtual museum tour, you can explore the museum at any time in special themed tours or freely. All exhibits are provided with detailed information.
