EXAMPLE (“Exact and Adaptive Modeling and Simulation of the Air Passage of Aircraft Engines”) is the first Marie Curie project in which MTU Aero Engines AG is taking part. The European Union’s idea behind these projects is to promote the mobility of young scientists and the mutual exchange of know-how and experience through long-term research partnerships between universities and industry. A total of 144 EU-funded researcher months have been allocated to the EXAMPLE project, which will run over a period of four years.
Within the framework of the EXAMPLE project, research work is being conducted into new methods of geometry generation together with Johannes Kepler University in Linz and through the reciprocal secondment of scientists. The hierarchical models developed under the project will considerably improve the precision and efficiency of component representation in all analytical applications. MTU’s objective is to further optimize the design process for engine modules.
