Marc Sauber to hand over management of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at the turn of the year

| After two years at the helm, Marc Sauber wants to devote himself to new tasks

Munich, December 11, 2025 | Marc Sauber is leaving MTU Aero Engines AG at his own request and by mutual agreement in the middle of next year in order to devote himself to new tasks. The company will announce the future structure and new management of the Corporate Communications and Public Affairs division once the final arrangements have been made.

Johannes Bussmann, CEO: “We owe Marc Sauber a debt of gratitude. He has done an outstanding job of managing overall communications during an extraordinary time for MTU, consistently developing the department with his team and successfully taking it to the next level. Our company enjoys an excellent reputation. We deeply regret his decision and wish Marc Sauber all the best for his next career move.”

After a transition period, Marc Sauber will leave the company on June 30, 2026. The 48-year-old lawyer and long-time journalist joined MTU two years ago from BMW AG under CEO Lars Wagner to head up corporate and marketing communications and political relations.

Marc Sauber: "MTU's transformation will enter its next phase in the new year, and at the same time, the personnel restructuring of the entire Executive Board will be successfully completed. For me, now is the right time to pass on the baton and set off for new horizons. I am proud of what we have achieved together and am very grateful for this enriching time. We have strategically developed our communications, visibly modernized them, and consistently digitized them. MTU is a very special company with excellent prospects for the future. I wish you every success in continuing on the path of growth and transformation you have embarked upon. My sincere thanks go to our new Executive Board, my team, and the entire MTU team."
