EME Aero

As a 50/50 joint venture between MTU Aero Engines and Lufthansa Technik, EME Aero is specialized in engine overhauls for the latest generation of Pratt & Whitney’s GTFTM engines.

The state-of-the-art facility in Jasionka, Poland, carries out disassembly, assembly, and testing and first began engine services for the PW1100G-JM in January 2020, for which MTU Aero Engines is an OEM for parts in the high-pressure compressor and low-pressure turbine. In 2022, EME Aero expanded its engine portfolio to the PW1500G engine, followed by a third subtype of the GTF engine family, the PW1900G, in 2023.

The facility, which is based on an efficient flow-line principle, had already performed about 130 shop visits in 2022. By 2026, it is expected to reach an annual capacity of 450 shop visits and a workforce of around 1,000 employees –  the fastest ramp-up in MTU’s history to date.
