Nova Pazova, 3rd September, 2025 | MTU Maintenance has appointed Frank Haberkamp Managing Director of MTU Maintenance Serbia effective from 1st September 2025. He takes over from Rainer Becker, who has been with the facility since the project phase and, following a transition phase, will return to parent company MTU Aero Engines in Munich in 2026.
MTU Maintenance Serbia is a component repair facility focusing on high value engine parts for large volume engine programs such as the CF34, CF6, CFM56, V2500 and GE90 as well as aero derivative LM2500 and LM6000 industrial gas turbines. The company was established in 2019 and entered operations in 2022.
“We thank Rainer for all his hard work, commitment and leadership over the years. He has been instrumental in the construction and development of the facility to date,” says Jaap Beijer, SVP Operations, MTU Maintenance. “In Frank Haberkamp, we are delighted to have found an experienced, well-networked and respected industry specialist to continue the strategic growth and further ramp-up of the site’s operations.”
Haberkamp has been with MTU Maintenance for over 18 years and held roles in the sales and program organization, most recently as Vice President Repair Services responsible for the group’s parts and accessory program worldwide. In his new role, he will focus on the continued growth of the site to a staff of more than 500 specialists and the on-going ramp-up to 470,000 repair hours per year.
The wholly-owned MTU subsidiary just 25 kilometers from Belgrade International Airport holds approvals from five aviation authorities, including EASA and FAA, and is a key player in MTU’s global repair network. Its experts conduct repairs on fan blades, cases, low-pressure compressor (LPC) airfoils and static parts, as well as composite repairs and painting. In order to prepare the employees in the best possible way, MTU has developed the Aviation Academy in Belgrade into a leading training center for aviation professions together with the Serbian Ministry of Education.
