AeroDesignWorks GmbH is a provider of propulsion solutions for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and modern guided missile systems. Since 2026, the company has been a wholly owned subsidiary of MTU Aero Engines AG. AeroDesignWorks was spun off from the German Aerospace Center DLR in 2011. Since then, the company has developed into a leading technology provider of gas turbines in the thrust range up to 350 N. The company produces a turbojet engine in series and has already successfully processed large orders for this engine in the defense sector. In addition, AeroDesignWorks is working on propulsion solutions for other national and European UAV and guided missile programs in higher thrust classes.
