As an Aviation Engine Test Cell Supervisor, you will oversee the operation of our engine test cells, ensuring
the safe and efficient testing of aviation engines. You will lead a team of technicians and engineers, manage
testing schedules and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Aviation Engine Test Cell Supervisor

Your tasks

  • Lead and supervise a team of technicians and engineers responsible for engine testing activities.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and excellence.
  • Oversee the operation of engine test cells, including setup, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols during testing activities.
  • Develop and maintain testing schedules, prioritizing engine tests based on operational requirements and customer demands.
  • Coordinate with other departments to optimize resource allocation and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor and evaluate test results to ensure compliance with performance specifications and quality standards.
  • Implement corrective actions and process improvements as necessary to enhance testing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, including FAA regulations and OEM specifications.
  • Maintain documentation and records related to testing activities for audit and inspection purposes.
  • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of test equipment and facilities to ensure reliability and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff to address equipment issues and minimize disruptions to testing operations.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including engineers, managers, and customers, to provide updates on testing progress and issues.
  • Prepare reports and documentation summarizing test results, performance metrics, and operational activities.
  • Ensure all test cell employees comply with safety regulations.

Your profile

Qualifications:

  • Comply with FAA, EASA, and company policies and procedures. 
  • Strong knowledge of aviation engine systems, testing methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and test cell equipment.
  • Ability to work in the United States legally (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C).

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree.
  • Previous experience (5+ years) in aviation engine testing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • A&P or P License.

  • Familiarization with Ceres software preferred but not required.

  • Time management skills and the ability to work under time pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service mentality with a positive, “can-do” attitude.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of physical ergonomics.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
