Gordon Riske to chair Supervisory Board of MTU Aero Engines AG

Munich, December 14, 2021 – Gordon Riske (64), CEO of KION GROUP AG, Frankfurt am Main, is to become the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board of MTU Aero Engines AG. In its meeting on December 14, 2021, the Supervisory Board of MTU unanimously resolved to propose Riske as a new member of the Supervisory Board at the Annual General Meeting on May 5, 2022. If the Annual General Meeting adopts this proposal, Riske is subsequently to be elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board. 
 
Riske’s Management Board mandate at KION ends on December 31, 2021. Born in the USA, Riske chaired the Management Board of DEUTZ AG, Cologne and was Managing Director of KUKA Roboter GmbH, Augsburg, among other posts, before joining KION.
 
As announced in 2020, Klaus Eberhardt (73), who has chaired the Supervisory Board of MTU to date, will step down at the end of the Annual General Meeting on May 5, 2022. Eberhardt said, “In Gordon Riske, the Supervisory Board is proposing an internationally very experienced and successful manager as its future chairman. The board is convinced that Riske will support MTU very actively and with great strategic foresight.”
 
Reiner Winkler, CEO of MTU, thanked Eberhardt for his 15 years on the Supervisory Board of MTU: “In a decisive phase, Klaus Eberhardt led the growth track of MTU with extensive experience, valuable inspiration and great sovereignty. MTU owes him the greatest thanks for this and wishes him all the best in the future.”
